Symposium Information

The Technology and Education Center for Renewable Energy (TECRE) is planning to host a symposium, tentatively scheduled for Thursday and Friday, November 5^th and 6^th, 2026. The concept of the Yellow Zone—wherein hybrid electric vehicle batteries suitable for second-life repurposing are distributed to households of communities in need—will be discussed at the event. The event will gather scientists, engineers, industry leaders, policymakers, social advocates, and community organizations to ignite a conversation about how to effectively design an equitable and sustainable circular battery economy for Puerto Rico.
